LETTER USING A REGULAR PEN AND A BRUSH PEN

HOW TO LETTER USING A REGULAR PEN AND BRUSH PEN

As the title explains, this blog is about how a beginner can actually start lettering.
There are some basic steps a beginner can follow and later as you grow you can change your ways of lettering or can even start with your own patterns and ways.

1) USING a gel pen/sketch pen/fine liner
Faux calligraphy makes your letters look similar to that of brush calligraphy/lettering. Follow the steps given below.
*Also here remember that you have to 'thicken the down strokes' and keep the upstrokes as it is.

2) USING BRUSH PEN
Brush pen is commonly used for lettering. Hold the pen in the way it is comfortable for you but avoid using the pen perpendicular to the paper. Make sure you hold it a certain angle to avoid any damage to the tip.
I first used to use it perpendicular to the paper which really ruined my tip and now if I letter with that pen, it draws a crooked line.
Follow the tips and the guides I made to get a better outcome.
This is all for today's blog. Tell me in the comments below if you have some other tips and also what do you want in my next blog.
STAY TUNED!
